Boric Acid

For Solid Soaps: Not recommended for use in solid soapmaking.
For Liquid Soaps: A weak acid that is ideal for use to neutralize excess alkalinity when making handcrafted liquid soap. Creates a boric acid/potassium borate buffer solution as it is used, greatly reducing 'touchiness'. Neutralization chemistry is similar to barax, but contains no sodium to potentially cloud your clear liquid soap. Sample testing with SBM Phenol P (phenolphthalein) solution is necessary to avoid clouding when using Boric Acid to neutralize, as lower PH levels can be reached than when using Borax as neutralizer.
